Christmas craft fairs....

It's been a crazy few weeks, well it is that time of year! I had my last craft fair on 6th December and I've been finishing lots of orders plus a winter bug came to visit me (I don't have time to be ill!). Anyway, this post isn't about 'poor me' and what a bad blogger I've been for not popping by to say "Hi" recently, I want to show you the photos from the craft fairs I did in November and December....

My stall at Royston before opening
Royston was a new one for me. It was the second one that was organised by the lovely Laura from Kozmic Dreams and she did a fabulous job organising and promoting it. There were two floors of handmade goodness. It was a busy and successful day with lots of visitors.  It was a friendly and upbeat atmosphere. Laura is looking to do more, I hope she will and she'll have me back!

Everyone getting ready at Royston

My stall at the Radlett Winter Fair 2014

The Radlett Winter Fair was another new one for me and was a very festive affair with Santa and his reindeer.
A real Reindeer!

We had singers on the stage behind my stall getting everyone in the festive mood, although it was hard to talk to customers at times!

I've been back to The Little Fox Market in Rickmansworth, twice.

The soup was yummy!
I'm usually opposite The Maverick Kitchen, her cupcakes are sooooooooo delicious. The Little Fox is not good for my waistline!

Not everyone appreciated the countdown!

My coasters have been popular, making perfect stocking fillers and Secret Santas

I like this photo I took of my Reindeer Christmas Decoration

Having been to a few craft fairs now I'm starting to see familiar faces and make friends.

This year has been all about trying different craft fairs and I think I have found some really good ones to focus on next year.  Expect to see me back at the Little Fox in Rickmansworth and New Milton Craft fairs.  I hope there will be more in Royston and Radlett too.  Due to the success of bespoke orders this year which has been unexpected, but fantastic, my online shops have been negelected. I will need to give these some TLC and I'll be relaunching my shops with new and exciting products in 2015.

I'm now finishing off the last custom order and I'll hopefully finish my Christmas gifts I'm making in time!

Are you ready for Christmas?

Psst.... My Etsy and Folksy shops will be closed from Friday 19th December 2014 until 29th December 2014 so I can take a much needed break and enjoy family time.  I may not be taking orders or making new products but I will be popping up here and on FacebookInstagram and Twitter so please come and say hello!

My Month in pics ~ August....

August has been an busy and exciting month, it started off with a wedding of some dear friends....

Cards I made for the happy couple ~ An order from a friend for the couple on the right and the card from me on the left.  Both were designed based on the invitation.

I loved the table centre pieces, so much of the wedding was beautifully handmade.  An arty shot of the hubby's button hole, he was one of 5 best men all of who were called Matt, seriously!

A friend of mine is having her first baby soon and to celebrate I hosted a baby shower for her....

The theme was afternoon tea. Other than the date and time the whole event was a surprise.

All the guests contributed by baking and bringing food.  A friend had a vintage tea set from her wedding, which made it look so pretty!

I made a book for her, I asked everyone to send me photos with their messages for the Mum to be and I put it all together.  It was a big job but so worth it and she loved it!

Inside the book.
I gave everyone party bags full of Jelly babies

I was so surprised when these gorgeous flowers arrived the next day as a thank you from the Mum to Be! I am so pleased she had a good time, phew!
I can't believe it has been a year since the Folksy Summer School! It was here that I decided to start this blog and decided I could make a business out of my passion!
I still think it is pretty cool that the Prime Minister turned up at the Home Business Summit
I am still in awe of the Corner shop.  You can read about my trip to the shop made of felt here

I had another day out of the Craft Den ~ Wedding Dress Exhibit at the V&A/ Poppies at the Tower of London / The Cock at Trafalgar Square outside of the National Gallery. Read more about my day in London here

Custom orders have been keeping my busy this month ~ New Home card/ Happy 8th Birthday Fearne / Belated Birthday card for Janie

1st Anniversary Card / Congratulations to Sharan and Sean celebrating their wedding / 1st Anniversary card based on a New York theme.

Before I go here is some work in progress from Instagram....

September is set to be an exciting month, can't wait!....

We visited Butterfly World and gardens which is down the road from where we live and we had never been! It was a great day out and a great place to take my camera....

The gardens were amazing with sculptures and different themes....
Garden designed as a bedroom / huge flower pot with spider web sculpture

Large plant pots and key / Thyme Garden

My Nan's neighbour kindly gave me this book from 1981.  I hadn't heard of Broomstick Crochet before. I haven't got my head around it yet but looking forward to doing more and showing you the results.  I particularly like the image of this Fluffy Sleep Cape, I think I might make these for Christmas presents!
My current crochet projects, I have also started working on Christmas ideas! (more about the one on the left next month).

This doughnut pin cushion is in Simply Crochet Magazine and it is definitely on the project list!

I attended the launch event for Go and Grow online.  After the success of the recent seminars (read about them here and here) there are 12 months of events planned to help you go and grow your business online.  Visit their website here to find out more.
I saw this and it made me smile

My month in pictures ~ June....

Well hello July, you took me by surprise!

Thank you June, you were a lot of fun....

The Little Fox Market at Rickmansworth....
The Foxy Café that makes a great coffee/ My stall/ A close up of my stall/ Bunting that was hung around the hall

Hubby and I had a week off and went to Dorset for a few days....
Lulworth Cove/ Something which I guess is for pulling boats on to the shore at Lulworth cove/ Durdle Door

We were so lucky with the weather and there are some gorgeous, unspoilt beaches in Dorset. I love being by the sea, it's so peaceful and relaxing.

Mmmm, Food ~ Menu from the best fish restaurant/ Mackerel Pate with edible soil and radishes / Afternoon Tea
We went to an amazing fish restaurant, Verveine in Milford~on~Sea.  You pick the fish you want from what was caught that day and then the marinade you want with it.  The food was amazing, the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. It was perfect for a special dinner for two!  If you are in the area and like fish I would recommend it but I would recommend booking.
Hillier Gardens ~ Mermaid glass sculpture/ Bumble Bee metal sculpture / pretty purple flowers
Hillier Gardens are beautiful and there is so much to walk around, I'm sure we didn't see it all.  It was a great opportunity to take lots of pictures and experiment with my camera settings.  I wish I took pictures of the flower names so I know what they are!

Pretty flowers and a glass sculpture

Monkey World ~No holiday is complete without a visit to a zoo!

Steam Railway ~ I love the old signs at the station

The steam train we travelled on to Swanage Station/ A stop off at Corfe Castle / Old cases at Swanage Station/ I love old posters, so I bought these postcards as a souvenir.

Meeting crafty folk....
Trip to London for a Crafty Cuppa arranged by Laura from Bugs and Fishes ~ A sculpture in Hyde Park / Natural History Museum where we met / we wondered down to the Serpentine Sackler Gallery/ I love my red shoes!

Meeting the #CraftBlogClub crew in Nottingham ~ Left to right, me, Emma and Katie/ I came across a Vintage shop next to the station and found these cameras, I was so tempted to buy one/  I loved this shelving unit which was also in the vintage shop/ Katie made me this crochet hook wrap, love it!/ Teapot floral display

New products ~ wall hangings and coasters....

Brand new products made this month, I will get these in my shops asap! ~ Live, Love, Laugh Heart Wall Hanging/ Pack of 4 Distressed Heart Coasters/ Country Heart with Flowers and Butterfly wall hanging.  What do you think?
