Secret Santa....

I hope everyone enjoyed the festivities. I am too scared to step on the scales, I am probably 2 stone heavier!

Even though I am no longer working in an office I still did not miss out on a Secret Santa this year thanks to the Twitter group #craftblogclub.  It was organised by the lovely Emma, the founding member of #craftblogclub and a fellow blogger, check out her fab blog here.

We were challenged with making a gift for a named recipient.  I received my Secret Santa gift very early, they were far more organised than me! Thank you Secret Santa!....

Wrapped in a festive fabric, love that idea!

Inside was a pretty felt Reindeer for my Christmas tree and Chocolate!

My beautiful gift was made by Caroline, the Reindeer is hanging on my tree among my red and gold themed decorations.  A mixture of handmade decorations and other pieces collected over the years. The chocolate didn't last long, yum yum!

I love her blog name ~ Tea is the Answer ~ and it is a good crafty read.

#craftblogclub is on twitter every Tuesday 7-8.30pm.  Join craft bloggers, lovers of craft blogs and crafters.  It is a fun, non-competitive arena to talk about anything craft and blogging related, as well as monthly challenges.

I will share the gift I made as Secret Santa in my next post

Thank you Santa for the rest of my gifts, so spoilt!  Of course I have crafty goodies to play with, one of which is a Crochet Starter Kit, 2014 will be the year I learn crochet....

What did Santa bring you for Christmas??

He's nearly here....

Only 4 sleeps until Santa finally arrives!  Have you finished your Christmas shopping?

I have just got back from my final craft fair of 2013!

I was in the Christmassy mood with my Christmas jumper and Santa hat

This craft fair was much better than previous ones, I actually made a profit! Customers were buying rather than browsing.  It may have been the time of year, the right customer for me or just being in the right place at the right time. I am happy that I have ended 2013 on a positive high and that the fizzi~jayne name is spreading.

Sales - 14!!

Now I can focus on getting ready for my own Christmas celebrations, family time and have a wee break.  I have now closed my Etsy & Folksy shop to do this so I won't be taking orders, or making any new products but I will be popping up on my blog,  Facebook and Twitter (I won't be able to stop myself!) so please come and say hello!

I will be reopening my shops on 31st December to launch my sale!

In 2014 expect to see new ideas, new products, favourite craft techniques and maybe a book review or 2.  If there is anything you would like to read in my blog please let me know, I would love your feedback.

I just want to thank my customers, blog readers and general supporters, what a year 2013 has been ~ I quit my 9-5, started this blog and that was just the second half of the year! I can't wait to see what 2014 has in store.

Merry Christmas!

Cheers!!

Only 8 more sleeps!!!!....

I am overly excited about Christmas, check out my new Christmas jumper, the nose flashes!....

I have one more craft fair on 21st December so I get to wear my new jumper, yeah! I will be joining other artists and crafters at St Mary's Church in central Watford.  If you are in the area, it will be lovely to see you and it will be a great place to get individual Christmas gifts or to escape the shopping centre for a cup of tea.

After this craft fair I will be taking a wee break and my Etsy & Folksy shops will be closed from 21st December.  This is so I can get ready for my own Christmas celebrations (not that I have left it to the last minute!), enjoy family time and have a bit of a rest.  I may not be taking orders or making new products but I will be popping up here and on Facebook and Twitter so please come and say hello!

For now I need to finish off some last minute pieces for the fair, I'm making more decorations and gift wrap as I am predicting these to be popular, I hope so anyway....

PS.  Last order date for UK delivery is 18th December! Visit my Folksy or Etsy shops to order

Feeling Christmassy....

Three craft fairs so far and I'm really enjoying them.  The build up of the week before is busy but I get a buzz from this and from seeing my hard work all come together.

My background is retail so I like setting up my own shop and getting the displays just right. Whereas before my career was more behind the scenes, now I get to talk to the customers, display products how I want to and basically have full control over the whole process. (Not that I am a control freak!)

I have been meeting some great people who have amazing talent and we all offer support and advice to each other. I have mentioned it before, but there is real camaraderie at these events. On Saturday a few of us were talking about how surprisingly quiet it was for a Saturday in December. I have been recommended other craft fairs that have better footfall and where fellow stallholders have had more success, which is reassuring so I am checking them out for 2014.

Sales = 7 items!
I am happy with this as it is more than the previous 2 Berkhamsted Fairs.

Cheesy pic alert....

Also this week
  • I reached 200 likes on my Facebook page, yeah! Thank you to my fizzi Facebook fans!
  • I have received my #craftblogclub Secret Santa, very exciting!  I'm busy making mine and will show pics of both in the next few weeks.
In the meantime, I am busy getting ready for my last craft fair of 2013 which is on 21st December. I have also just realised that I have been so focused on fizzi~jayne and getting ready for craft fairs that I haven't even thought of my own Christmas preparations and shopping, eeek!! I did manage to get a couple of gifts from other stalls at the weekend but it is going to be a busy couple of weeks, ah well, sleep is over rated!!

How are your Christmas preparations going?  I'd love to hear from you....

I do love cake....and Christmas.... and Birthdays.....and of course craft.....

It's been a busy week of birthday celebrations, not only was it my husband's birthday but it was also my Nan's 90th!  So there was cake!  MMmmm lots of cake....

So I wasn't in my Craft Den for 5 days and I started to get the shakes but it is good to take time out, resting the mind allows the creative juices to flow.  I came home with lots of ideas written in my notebook (I carry this everywhere as ideas come when you least expect them) I will have to wait until after the Christmas fairs before I start work on them but I can't wait to get started ~ 2014 will be fizzi~jayne's year!!!!

Christmas craft fairs are keeping me busy right now, and I have another one added to my diary.  Someone saw my stall at Berkhamsted and passed on my details to an organiser of another Christmas Craft Market who asked me if I wanted to be a part of it, how could I say no!?!  It was so lovely to think my stall made an impression, it certainly gave my confidence a boost and just shows whatever my sales the fizzi~jayne word is spreading!  So if you are in the Watford area on 21st December I will be at St Mary's Church, just off the High Street on Church Street in central Watford (WD18 OEG).

Before that I will be at Berkhamsted Town Hall again this Saturday at the Artisans, Arts & Crafts Christmas market.  I love Christmas and once the family birthdays are over (November is a busy birthday month) I get very excited.  I have my Santa hat at the ready and I am looking forward to having my first mince pie of the year.  It will be my last appearance of 2013 at Berkhamsted so it would be great to see you if you can make it.  If you can't be there I will be posting pics on my blog next week but if you can't wait until then I will be posting on my Facebook page and on twitter during the day....
